Scale it to the room first, then to the height. A wider ring, or several tiers, reads better under a tall ceiling than a small piece hung high, which can look lost.

For the plan, use the rule on the site: chandelier diameter in inches is roughly room length plus width in feet. A room 6 m by 5 m is about 19.7 ft by 16.4 ft, which gives roughly 36 in, or 91 cm. A high ceiling often justifies the next size up, so a 100 cm ring is a reasonable candidate for that room. Treat this as guidance, not a rule, and check it against the room. how do you scale a chandelier over a table in a tall room?

Over a table, the table sets the diameter and the ceiling sets the drop. Keep the chandelier to between one half and two thirds of the table width. For a table 1.8 m wide, that is 90 to 120 cm, which falls within Teeshaa's 100 and 120 cm rings.

Hang the bottom of the piece so it is visible from seated height without blocking faces across the table. Over a table or island, the bottom of a pendant sits 75 to 90 cm above the surface. In a tall room this means a long suspension, so the cut-to-size rod or wire matters more than the canopy height.

The piece is seen from two levels. From the floor it is a ceiling feature; from the upper landing it can be at eye level and close. Choose a drop and a form that works from both, and avoid hanging a bright, bare source at upper-floor eye height.

A vertical composition suits a stairwell, because it follows the void and stays clear of the walking line. General guidance: keep the lowest point of any hanging piece well clear of the floor wherever people walk beneath it, commonly at least 2.1 m (7 ft). A large piece can be heavy, and the support must reach the structure, not the false-ceiling board. This page does not give weights or fixing methods, because those depend on the piece and the building.

Ask the studio for the weight of the piece you are considering. Then have a structural engineer confirm the fixing point and a licensed electrician do the wiring. Made-to-order pieces are typically 3 to 4 weeks. Custom-made and made-to-order pieces are not eligible for returns, exchanges or refunds, so agree the size and drop with the studio first.
